I did a box last night and got skunked -- 2 NIFC's doesn't dull the pain a whole lot LOL

Thank you for the replies about the banks. I asked at BB&T. The teller said she would order me 2 boxes but a few days later when I went for quarters she said she wasn't sure if they were ordered because she had to go home sick the day that the bank does their ordering. So, it is very likely they weren't ordered. However, I can easily get more boxes of say pennies or quarters because they keep a good supply of tose on hand due to their being in a business district. However, on a much happier note: tonight while I watched a utube video the guy was talking about a DDR on the 1970D Kennedy half from the Mint uncirculated sets. Lo and behold, upon getting out my set I found one! Wow! What a surprise! And here I have been carrying this set around for 20 years and never knew because I didn't know to look and what to look for....lol. So I officially have my first undeniable and very beautiful 50 cent error coin. A 1970D Kennedy half.(Thanks Dad! He gave me the set.) Now, does anyone have any idea what it's worth? I went to visit my family this weekend and of course I had to hit up all the banks in Austin that I could on Saturday. My parents saw me going through all the coins and my mom asked me if I would tell her what all she had. It turns out that her father had given her a bunch of coins before he passed in the late 60's and she still had them all. She had over 3 dozen walkers and Franklin's, and 5 Morgans and about 2 dozen Mercury dimes as well as about a dozen Barber dimes and around 10 Barber half dollars as well. I made her pinkey swear with me that if she ever decided to get rid of them that I was the first person she would offer them to. |

That is awesome! Your mom has a very nice collection. One of my relatives lives out in the Midwest. He has been an avid coin collector for a great many years now. I have only seen him a few times in my whole life but the last time I saw him he was still very much into collecting. He had given me a Morgan silver dollar in pristine condition when I was only 3. My dad later sold it without telling me. He smoked so he actually blew it up literally in smoke! Arghhhh. But hey, I'm very happy to find out that my 1970D Kennedy in the mint set he gave me is a DDR.... ;) When I got up this morning I just had to look at it again to make sure I didn't just dream it up. But no! It is very real. Yay! Went through my first box of the year this past weekend. Skunked. Now I gotta find a place to buy some rolls so I can re-roll everything and turn them in. Anyone buy their rolls online?

Why not find a bank with a free coin counter and open up an account? Saves some time.

you can get preformed paper "tube" rollers from Office Depot, otherwise get the flat ones from a bank for free.

Nice Viper. Your same bank in Tulsa? 2 $500 boxes or a bag? Is the 2005-S a silver or clad proof. This may be a dumb question but what are the "clad 76-D, clad 77-d"?

Did a box today stink as usual but my main favorite teller also gave me a single cwr before she tell me we would not see eacother at the bank anymore as she is starting to work somewhere else and today was her last day at work on the bank ! The cwr was from a old bank and had 5x40% ; I ll miss her a lot my heart is broken !

ricardo yea I know how you feel my bank also had one teller who was so nice and sweet she left as well, did 2 boxes today small stuff 2 90s 4 40s at least I broke my 3 box skunker
