On silver prices...I read a news article saying one reason for it's decent is that the wedding season is over.

When regarding 1974 DDOs, are you referring to the 1974-D coins?
Correct. The 1974-D Doubled Die Obverse.

Got through my second box today.

No silver at all - weird b/c I thought I would get some in this area considering I got s few quarters, dimes, and a V-nickel in pocket change over the last couple years (and also found a 68D half).

However, its not been a total loss as I got a 2010, 2004, and also filled plenty of holes from the later 90's when I had not been collecting them avidly.

I did find it funny that I found (so far) a total of five 2001P and five 2001D halves and yet have only seen two ea. of 2000 P&D halves. The 2001 halves weren't released into circulation, but yet I find more of them?!

Also - can someone enlighten me as to why I cannot find any 2007 P or D? Were these only mint set releases also?

This week's box was a total skunk. Last week, the teller I normally deal with was out and the manager wasn't in the bank so they couldn't open the vault. I'm thinking about going back to dimes for a while.

Hey Earle42 - Kennedys from 2002 to present have only been made in small quantities and sold to collectors. We call them NIFC which stands for Not Intended For Circulation. Check production numbers, and you'll see about 40 million Kennedys in 2001, down to 5 million in 2002, and holding around that number until dropping to 3.5 million in 2008. Those numbers are about evenly split between Denver and Philadelphia.

I realized just how not rare some years were such as 1999, 2001 when I got about 8-12 solid boxes of never circulated brand new coins. The entire box marked with the same year. This happened several boxes in a row to me a couple of years ago.
What I learned from it though is, even entire boxes of the same year, never circulated rarely have a perfect coin sample in them. Almost every single coin comes out with some kind of blemish when they are rolled by the Fed. They get dinged up on the face or get hazy finishes, almost looks like a cloudy oxidation of some kind or something that forms on many of them.
A perfect coin is rare even when you are searching brand new coins. Who'd of thunk it?

Man Bishftl... you're just insane. I haven't ever found more than 2 silvers in a box. And I'm lucky just to find ONE! I am jealous.

Wrestling, Are you still at that same bank? I know you're busy but maybe you can set up a new bank account online. Then order the halves over the phone. That would take you less time then it takes to pick up a box of clad halves :P

I'm rooting for you buddy but you've got to change it up!

Two boxes yesterday:
box 1 = 1 1964D Kennedy
1 1958D Franklin

box 2 = 1 1967 40%

Went to another bank and picked up $20 in loose halves, got 1 1967 40% (the equivelant find of going through $500 dollars in the second box above. You just never know.

Was very disappointed on the number of marked coins found, especially rolls of 72 and 74's someone obviously set aside to check all together then rolled all together.
