Great finds Chuckster - these are the two that I am hoping to find (along with the 72 no initials). I seem to have found several of the 71D DDOs that have the doubling on the word "IN." Are these more common than other DDOs and the no initial coins? I would take pics, and have tried to, but cannot get the lighting right to shoe the doubling. They look just like the pics in the Cherry Picker's Guide though - notches and all.

Earle42:
Thanks!

Regarding the 71 D DDO's- I don't know if they're more common than the others.

I do look at all 1972P's for the 72P DDO-001 (Coneca).
I've found at least 10 of them over the past 3 years and it's a real nice DDO especially in the EDS stage.

Thx, Jbuck!

man, my bank is really dried up, I'm lucky to get even that one. last 6 boxes, only the 1976s silver. I want to ask them if they changed the order or did anything different.

@BernieZ, if you live in a highly populated area it's highly likely they just got drained and didn't change their ordering.

One day I will have enough money to roll/box hunt halves. I am considering taking some money and getting a few rolls to start. I hesitate because I am an album junkie, and every time I dive into new coins I get an album for them (started with dimes, then I got 4 for quarters...). And so I'll spend $X on rolls of halves planning to turn them in for more rolls to keep hunting, only to discover I've put every half from the roll into an album! LOL

Some day...

Chuster 125,

Nice finds there. To find both of these errors is really nice. I have yet to find my first 1974D DDO. So far, the only decent error coin I have found is a 1972-D No FG.

Bummer... asked a teller today if he had any half dollars. He said he used to, but they were all silver so he took them.

MadMortician... I hear you about being an album junkie. I have 8 complete Kennedy albums 1964-2001, and a ninth one well under way. Plus a smaller number of NIFCs, as I find them.

Not only does that tie up cash, time spent roll hunting also means being on the lookout for upgrades.

Second box this week:

2002-P NIFC
2003-D NIFC

1984-D
Almost looks like perfect copper, colored toning. Yet, at first I thought it to be a possible grease stamp.
Very odd coin. I will see if I can UL a picture to get your opinions.

@jwguts: Ah yes, UPGRADES. LOL. So much of my time roll hunting is spent finding a nice coin and grabbing the album to see if it is better than the one I already have.
