Just got $19.50 customer halves. Scored a whopping 8 40% and 1 90% and a 74D DDO corroded piece. 2012 JFK roll searching --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2012 totals Total searched: 677 coins ($338.50) $130 machine rolled rest customer rolled 40% silver: 13 (1.9%) 90% silver: 1 (64D) NIFC: 17 (01P, 02P, 03P, 06P, 06Dx3, 08Dx2, 09Px2, 09D, 10P, 11Px3, 11D) Proof: 1 (73S) Other: 74D DDO (corroded) |

I stopped at a Capital One branch I rarely go to, only because their coin counting machine never seems to be working. I scored a 1966 from a teller.  |

I'm seeing a trend here today. Silver from tellers.
While making a deposit, I asked about half dollars. The teller called down the line, and the guy at the end had 6 halves. I didn't expect much, as this was the same guy who told me two weeks ago that he'd already taken the halves because they were silver. But, in the 6 halves, two were 40%'ers. Go figure.

jwguts, you'd be surprised how many people still don't know that 1965-70 contain silver. To everyone else...I am confident that tellers will try and hold coin for certain people by telling them "yes, but there is no silver". Always always always take them anyway. I've had it happen more than once where they contained silver. Even found a 90%er one time after a male teller tried to convince me there wasn't any silver or anything collectible. In the halves that they had.

Have no doubt, I do take them. Always. If nothing else, I'm letting the teller know he/she has a reliable customer to get rid of those PIA coins for them.

Sorry this is slightly off topic, but this is the right audience... Melt value of 40%'ers is at $4.22 this evening. And this ebay auction is selling 40%ers at $4.50 each, your choice, one or hundreds. Including free Priority Mail shipping!! So, 27 cents over melt, and he gives you for free the service of delivery to your home worth $4.95. By my math then, the net cost is below melt until after you've purchased more than 18 coins from him. (495 divided by 27 = 18.33) http://www.ebay.com/itm/25106972941....m1439.l2649And the seller has 100% feedback, including selling some big ticket items. I'm thinking that's worth it. |

I think I just went through my 22nd box tonight and I got about a hundred nifc and no silver. That is a 22 box skunk from three totally different banks I believe I am done with fed wrapped rolls for a while I do wish the rest of you luck.

I get an even better deal. I buy $4.22 worth of silver for $0.50. I geuss the way I see it is if you buy silver for silver sake, that is investing. I have a hobby. My investing is going to be limited to 401k, Roth and maybe some mutual funds. Incidently: 2 40%'ers found in 6 rolls at a bank that NEVER pays off. Not even sure why I went there. |

just searched a $500 bank box
found 1-2005 and a 1991 that has a extra p mintmark located on the left side almost touching the first 9 in 1991,its kinda filled in but definately a p :-) has anyone found one or heard of one like this,im trying to get a pic of it to post but I'm not good photographing coins

grabbed 4 extra boxes this weekend, and got skunked
todays 2 boxes, yielded one 1967, a few nifc.........good luck this week, got my 4 boxes to pick up friday.

3 more dump boxes today - getting highly annoying seeing 5 to 6 marked coins a roll - gotta keep chugging along till my monster box arrives
