I had lots of errands to run all over town today, and decided to split up my dump/buys for all coins over eight banks total.
Picked up $8 in halves just out of trays (Also a Susan B too for the collection).
Scored 2 40% (1967, 1968 D).

ihittheskislopes I agree with you on your analogy of the situation at the coin processing centers. Although I met a guy cleaning a coin machine at a credit union once who told me there are some people he knew who where rolling coins for free on the condition that they got to keep the silver they find.

Quote: Is it still wort it to hunt for Silver? It depends on what your goal is and what your time is worth to you. You sure would not be able to quit your job by finding silver. But I do it for the fun. I decided I wanted to try to fill a Kennedy album (although I have a set) from circulation - for fun. Although I cheated a little and bought some of the proofs from a CCF member here - just b/c the album had slots for them. I have a lot of time on my hands. It makes for fun.

Went to a local bank and the teller gave me all of her "weird" coins in addition to several hundered dollars rolled from the vault. Got a good looking 1964 and and an ugly toned 68. I also got about 5 very good condition NIFC halves.

Trapper,
Could be the teller trying to dissuade you from getting more coins. Look at all angles when possible.
I hope he/she is wrong though.

Should have two boxes tomorrow, and I am hoping they pay as well as the last two. If they do, I will be fairly certain I have hit an older supply or something in that ballpark.
I am quite optimistic.
After showing my coins to the tellers last week, one of them said her son was into anything silver and that if I continued to find silver he would want her to bring home some coins. Hmm, see how it spreads. :)

Found another 1967 at THE SAME bank from the other day - teller had $10 in loose halves. I think I'll try back tomorrow.

Make sure to check your 1966 coins for doubling on the Kennedy profile.
I wish I could find a Franklin; I have not found one to date. But, then again, I have not found that much silver compared to other searchers either.
Okay, way past bed time here at 3:57 a.m. Later all.

Nice finds, Trapper!
Having a horrendous bad 2 weeks, band broke up and re-formed without me; mother went to hospital; basement flooded.
Figured: At least I have the one bright spot in my life: my boxes.
Went to the bank to get them this morning, and they didn't have them. The guy that orders them went on vacation and didn't order them, and they said they won't have them next week either. I gotta wait till 2nd week of July to get them.
I called this morning and left a message with the manager that helped me set it up initially, but she hasn't returned my call yet.
Man I hate June 2012.

Box One Today:
1 x Gold Plated 1992 P 1 x 1964 1 x 1967 1 x 1969-D
Also, today I got a mixed delivery. One box was the same old, plain box I have been receiving and one was the newer style I received two of last week. Well, sure enough, the newer designed box has produced silver and the old, plain one has a lot of low weighing rolls. Also, I have weighed the heaviest rolls from the older, plain design and came up empty handed.
Thus, I think my theory about the newer designed boxes having the silver is going to be correct.
