Nice one HalfHunter!

..... went back to that Federal Credit Union and as I had suspected - the teller was full of baloney .... they CAN order boxes for me which is a good thing.

The aggravation of getting the kids to sit still for 20 minutes (which failed miserably) paid off so far.... got 4 rolls of large dollars.

Haven't dug in yet... will post my finds...

Great finds, Halfhunter! Congrats on the Walker! Everytime it seems like we'll never find more great coins, something like your boxes happens and we all get new hope!

I stopped at 4 banks today while driving to option 2 dump bank. My last few boxes have been skunked for silver, so I wanted to drive my dump far away, bout 45 minutes. I picked up $290 in CWR from one of the 4, the other 3 had none. Not a thing worth keeping, not even a BU of any year. Obviously someone's dump, but it was worth it for the thrill of it.

Here's my last 13 boxes (with silver highlighted ala Bish):

Box 66

1968 d x2

1985 p BU
1987 d
1997 d BU
2002 d BU

Also I wanted to include these "Colors" of halves I've collected. The colors don't come across quite as well
as in person, but you get the idea. The silver ones are very silver; like painted with model paint, the old "Testers" paints, for those who remember:

the large $10K order has done what it was supposed to.
got me into the secondary vault.

i added a $2k order after I picked up the 10k and it had to be delivered on an off day, today.

got 4 fresh s&s boxes, which is good news no matter what comes out of them. seeing yellow wraps for the first time in a month is reward enough.

gotta get to it, have 14k coins to search, be back on Sunday.

BTW good luck Lonz
BernieZ- not bad, the franklins always make it worth while.
and that 2009 is the quality I am always looking for.

@ BernieZ: Is it just me, the lighting or does that '53 Franklin look purple?

Anyway nice finds everyone! I'd search halves if my bank regularly carried halves.

Bish,
Can't wait to hear what you find in your boxes! Congrats on breaking into 2nd level of coins. Can't wait to hear. Also, as soon as I get a roll of each mint in NIFC's, I'll be open to moving whatever else I find.
Got a long way to go before I get to 500 posts, though.

CrazyCat, it looks like the reverse side picture; the purple is just a photo tinting. It's brown. It did fill a hole in my Franklin book; I just started fillin that in about 3 months ago.

Monk, I know what you mean about the inspection stamp boxes.
They almost always have something good in them.

In contrast, every time I see a real new-looking box, with no inspection stamp, I know it's gonna be 99% dump. Then you open the box, and you can pretty much tell by looking at the rolls, all banged up and dull looking, you ain't finding no treasures in that box.

On the other hand, when you find the inspection stamp or you get a beat up, old, dusty-looking box, you're probably gonna find some great stuff.

Three weeks now without my boxes for various reasons. Now that I seem to have some time, I plan on ordering two boxes this coming Monday for Thursday delivery. Hopefully, I will get the orange labelled boxes which tend to have a nice amount of gold.

More later.

Beautiful coins.

I had stopped asking for Ikes at banks lately.

Looks like it's time to start asking again!
