Box # 29
1968 D
2000 S 2001 S
2000 S (silver) 2001 S (silver) 2004 S (silver)
Ten 2002-2005 NIFC coins
Very strange mix. Almost like someone dumped a 2000 + set of coins and I got part of it in my box. No complaints mind you as the 3 90% and 1 40% makes it my best silver content box yet.

Looks like silver is starting to pop up again -I went through 4 boxes of halves yest and found: Box 1 12 40% silver Box 2 6 40% silver Box 3 3 Franks - 2 1952 and 1 1958 Box 4 5 S proofs Searched a box of nickels after the halves and netted 4 War Nickels. All in all - a good day. Happy Hunting!

A couple pages back someone was discussing tax implications of hrh. I just wanted to clear it up and say there are no tax implications of what you find, until you sell. And when you die, the basis is stepped up to market value for your heirs, meaning there could be no tax at all for them under the right circumstances. Of course I could be wrong, but I did take a tax class last year, and this info is from that class.

boxes 21-22 NIFC: 1P 1 1D 1 4P 4 4D 1 5D 1 8D 1 10P 1 I have especially been looking for the 74DDO just b/c I like the looks of it. Typically as I go through the boxes I stack each year to be cherry picked, and at the end of the two boxes, I put them under the microscope. Halfway through one of the boxes I found a beautiful 1974D with original luster - quite a beauty. As I put it on the stack of 74D's I thought to myself how nice it would be if that one would be a DDO - yeah right! After I was done with both boxes, and done going through all the 72s,72Ds, 73Ds, and I was looking at the last coin of the day - the shiny 74D... Guess what!? You will have to forgive the psychedelic colors - but "psyched" is how I felt! Oh yes - I also had another great find... My cherry picking totals form the last 12 boxes year......current #......running total 72P........142................856 no DDO found yet 72D.........33................229 one NO-FG found 73D.........14................108 one DDO found 74D.........27................115 one DDO found 82D..........2..................9 zero No-FG found yet edited for typo

I drove around for 3 hours through small towns. I thought for sure I'd get skunked; I went to the same general area a couple of weeks ago, and got one lousy 40% for my effort. I'm still in a daze. I saw other people finding whole rolls, but never thought I'd be one of them...

I am glad and sad at the same time people. I am glad to see all the great finds and sad that the bank that was supplying my half dollars gave me the "we can't order them anymore" line of crap.
I always tried to be courteous and dumped the boxes at my credit union branches. Now, I have been told by the head teller that the lady over her said Brinks was charging them for the halves and that she could no longer order them.
Only problem with this is that they have been ordering them from Brinks from day one and never a word was said about fees. Also, I was told earlier that the charge for the deliveries was the same no matter what. Now, I think it is simply the runaround from a bank I really liked and always tried to be nice to.
I was planning on adding quite a bit more funds starting this week, but now I will have to rethink this seeing the mentality of the bank is not at all what I thought.
