wow Chuckster..I have seen a few KHD DDO / DDR's in my day, but, this closeup pic of your 71-D DDO-OO6 has to be one of the Earliest die state's I have ever seen.VEDS at it's best....the notches are SO crisp, your looking at like one of the first 50 coins struck you found, if not the first 10!!...the luster must be out of this world, with PL areas to boot around face/hair? If you do the math for a coin like this, it's about 1-250,000 or so....VERY few from then left intact NICE find !!

ilikeikes:
Thanks!
I'm not savy at all with regards to die stages on coins.
Case in point, I sent a 1971D DDO-001/DDR-001 FEV 006 Ike to Dr Wiles for attribution and came back as Real nice EDS and graded it MS-60 and to me it looked like the coin was just a normal looking Ike that had seen better days, but what did I know?
This 71D JFK does have some sheen around the profile etc but again to me it looks like any other decent JFK, nothing special that I can see except for the crisp doubling, especially on the IN on the Obverse.
Thanks again for the info.
Chuck.

Okay, it is days like these I almost hate my bank for stopping my halves. Time to find another source no matter how many doors I need to walk through.
I do not feel totally negative seeing I did find around 2.2 troy ounces of silver jewelry (adjusted for 7.5%) for around $9.64 today. Not quite coins but still silver.
This being said, I MUST find a halves supplier.
