I wouldn't keep a bunch of those mint rolls but I think I would hold on to a couple.

How do we know what years were NIFC? I've got a box that had some really nice and shiny (BU's?) with 1998 and 2000 dates. Are those NIFC's? Also, do you think they have any value? I am thinking about putting them on ebay as a set such as: 12 - 1998 BU's and 12 - 2000 BU's...do you think anyone would buy them?

Thanks.

@Kurrykid

From 2001 and on the Kennedys were Not Intended For Circulation - hence "NIFC."

As to selling BUs on ebay - I don't know. With ebay you NEVER know

I was surprised when I saw some sold auctions for a trio of common JFKs.

I guess people still think these are valuable b/c they are "rare" (since "no one ever sees them").

So 1998 and 2000 would not be NIFC's. They are in perfect shape and look like they've never been circulated!

Thanks for the comments.

Does the 1983 have reeding? It looks like a broadstrike.

Yeah it has reeding on the edge like a normal half, its not a slick edge?
Nice teller snag on the 12$.

Only one iv ever found, looks like 22$ minimum on the bay if I sell it. Probably just hang on to it for now.

No nifc, as was said thats only 2002 and newer. Keep them if you want to, you can always cash them back in later.

If it has reeding, it's just a minor MAD and probably commands no premium, halfhunter.

That '52-S was a hole filler, heh. 4 holes left in the frankie collection!

@Kurrykid
I have been getting a LOT of 1996 and 1998s that look as if they just came out of the mint. Sometimes up to a third of a box. I admit I do not like it b/c if they were not in the rolls, maybe something better would be!

As to the 2000s, for some reason I do not get a lot of really nice ones. The ones I see are usually beat up. But I have a feeling since it was the last made for circulation, and being a special year, that people in general, probably hoarded them.

Earle, 2001 was the last year halves were made for circulation, not 2000. 2001 P and D were released into circulation for about half of the year, then halted, from my understanding.

didn't get my halves today, frustrating, but they will be putting in a standing order for 4 boxes halves, 500 in dimes and 4 boxes of pennies twice a week, so going to be able to make the other bank I was hitting hard my dump bank and pull another 4 boxes from the other bank, I can live with 12 boxes a week and see how that works out. Also picked up 32 coin bags from my dump bank.

It's about making the time, Kurry. Should get a bag of ikes and 6 boxes of halves tomorrow, hoping I have enough time after wedding prep crap to pick them up... praying I have enough time, haha. Gotta dump 6 bags too. Fun, fun, fun... :|

Ok no problem, its yours.I can send it along with the other coins for our grading deal. It does have a little rip on the other side of the roll, the paper is doubled up right there, so the edges of the coins are in good shape. Ill put a pic of it up later this week, hopefully with some good finds from my boxes.

Ah to bad, was hoping I had a good one. Iv seen a few like that, but that one is the most off center Iv personally found. Nice deal on the hole filler, I'm assuming your set is all roll finds. My oldest half was a 1918 ended up in my walker book. Some of my bens made it to all though now, Iv got my franklin set up to 75% AU/BU coins
