Picked up four boxes from Chase today. I got to the bank right as the Loomis guy was dropping them off. Skunked except for 4 proofs, a few errors and about 10 NIFC. There was also a 1976 that has a chrome look to it. No mintmark and it's clearly a clad, but I've never seen a half with this type of finish. Weird. Four more coming Thursday and four Friday.
Grabbed 3 CWRs at the bank inside of Walmart on my way home and snagged a '68. Not bad.

I hope Loomis is not pulling silver. Right now, the boxes I am getting are the flat ones with the yellow writing on the side. The wrappers are String & Son. I will try to remember and ask who the carrier for PNC is here locally. I know my CU,which is next door, now uses Garda.

BTW, hope to get a monster box tomorrow. Lord knows I could use the money right now the taxes now due

I cobbled together a prototype to open my rolls over the weekend, I opened 2 boxes of paper wrapped pennies in about a minute. I need to put together a silver sorter, I ordered a hopper that can feed any denomination and I ordered a few comparitors everything should be here this week, looks like I should be able to search about 12k of halves an hour without any jams or issues, they will count right in a bag to be deposited.

I just got my letter from a nursing program and if I make the final selection I will be full time in school for the next 2 years with really no time to do this stuff if I don't get it automated. If I get it all to work I will post some pictures.

I am on a ~$9000 skunk streak. I told my bank I wanted to take a break because I'm tired of wasting time. This all started when I started getting terrible boxes that looked different. My normal boxes from Brinks have a modern looking font in all black. The crap boxes look like they're old but they're really not. I found a few badly worn NIFC coins from as late as 2009.

Here's a picture of the crap boxes. It's weird since I saw them pop up at two of my banks. They look like they could be wrapped by someone's personal wrapping machine. when I saw them I really had high hopes. If they are in fact from back then, I'd expect to see SOME silver in them. I guess maybe they ran out of the new packaging boxes and just started using whatever they had on hand and they were in fact packaged up recently.

I finished up my 3 boxes last night. My silver slump continues. These boxes were horrible. Not a single coin worth keeping. Like Abby, this puts me at $9,000 in halves without a single silver. I have $1000 coming in on Friday.

4 weeks of this crap. I need things to change.

Got my two boxes today and checked for enders. Do not see any enders, but that is not uncommon. In the box that produced 6 for the 40% coins last week, there was one ender showing. The box that produced the miracle coin (see previous post) had no enders showing.

Will try to update on the finds. Also, I am now calling my cautious find of a 1972-D No FG last week a solid find. Problem is that it is in well circulated condition. It is a nice find, and I will try to get a decent picture up. I took some this week with my Canon 450D and it showed TOO much detail. Every fine little line on them showed. So, I now need to figure out a decent setup for photographing single coins. I am thinking the addition of a glare filter on the lens will be a starting point.

Boxes 4 and 5:

Both are Silver Skunks.

1976.....Chrome Plated Half
1981-S...Worn Proof (edge was marked)
2008-D
2011-P
2011-D

1983-P...Counterstruck 1960 / 1980

Also, saw a lot of marked coins here. So, time increase the volume and see what happens.

I got one of those 1983 counterstruck 1960/1980 halves in the last box and did not mention it as I just threw it back (horrible condition) - any idea of what these were stamped for?

Looks like dunbar boxes Abby, bet your bank changed carriers. Would love to find the dunbar source around here to try.

Earle those 1980 stamps are 20 year JFK election specials.

@kenscott Do you know the origin of the chrome plated half? I have found a couple of those myself.
