What's cull price for a Half Dollar? I'd buy in that condition by the pound for cull price.

The coin is not cull.
I am curious how the OP is using the term cull.
Most times you will hear someone say, I paid melt or spot.
Or below melt or spot.
For me hearing the term cull for this coin is odd.
I don't want to be taken as being negative, just trying to understand.
Either way if the op paid $5 to $6 ...or less ...he did good

Is that even a real Columbus?
The depth / height of the mottos seems WAY to detailed / tall / whatever you want to call it. It looks more like a 3" replica.

I just compared it to mine and the letters on that one look more chunky and deeply struck for sure... I would say yes on counterfit from my comparison. Sorry:(

Looks like a replica, the entire design is way too high relief.

Fairly cheap, but it seems as if most companies usually don't sell coins for right at melt.

Yeah I thought the high relief was weird too. I wonder if he got it in a cull bag of halves for melt. Then again who would copy a cheap coin like that :/?

Ok I searched online and they do sell that year in a replica on Chinese ebay for like $1.50 ;(. I can't tell the difference between an actual real one and the one they were selling as fake. His may be real and just has funky lighting idk. I would link to the listing but linking to that site is banned here. The important thing is that they are faking them. I pay $7 for junk silver halves, though slot of them are far from junk.

The coin is a real Expo half dollar...its not a replica. I believe the lighting may have made the strike seem like high relief. I just thought for a coin labeled "cull", that I got a good deal considering the detail on the coin.

If cull = bullion price, I would be happy to pay.

For reference I paid $13 for $1 face value....so basically $6.50 a coin.

Maybe it's the photos, but it has the look of pewter. Have you given it a ring test?
