Wow! Nice score. I like be the large cents, I've only heard about people getting them in coinstars or from half dollars on rare occasions in the U.S.

I feel it's a shame though that when some people inherit a collection, they don't take a second look and dump it all at a bank. I do understand why they'd dump the 50cts and $1s, but the nickels and pennies are just old pearls with minimal value that can be kept at home to look at or maybe pass down to children etc.

I think the Nootka dollar is part of the Heritage collection, there have been a few posts about these, you can search for them.

Thanks for the info, I did not see the nookta dollar on coins and canada. I'm sure its just a nickle one due to the coulor, and it looks like it has been in circulation or open due to finding a hair in inside the capsule But dont get why people dont cheack what they inherited? They could of gave it to a family member or friend that does collect coins. I do get the nickel dollars and and 50c going to the bank but I took them because I only had 4 of each prior to this. Well at least they are safe form being melted or going back into circulation. The bank wanted someone to pick them up so they dont have to send them off.

I bought for face at one bank, a Whitman book with 18 silver 50 cent pieces, so like I always say, if the coins are out there, you will find them.

Love that run of 1942-1945 War Nickels and the two commemorative nickels as well. Large cents are also awesome. WWI era too.

You actually found a coin folder at a bank. Wow thats crazy!
I do too realy like the 1942-1945 especially the tmbac ones. These are the frist ones I have seen in person.
Tombac questions: why did they start making nickels out of copper, where they from discarded copper bullet casings after the war?

It was to conserve the nickel during the war effort, the actual Tombac was only 42 and 43, there are apparently a few in 44, but extremely rare after this they did a steel/chrome, and then back to nickel
