I've seen CoinWeek's 1942/1 video, and it looks like you have an overdate IMHO. I'd say MS-63

This is my best guys, sorry. I'm operating soley on a mobile platform. Not the most compatible with the site. That being said, these pics are better then before. I know a lot of you were having trouble identifying the 1 under the 2 on this Denver Merc. Honestly I didnt at first either.I took the long way around. It was the strong RPM that attracted me and the slight doubling on the date at first. It wasnt untill I started hitting all the markers, that I realized what was infront of me. Then verified under a microscope. I know its there. Thank you SuperDave, and Childofthewheat especially, and to you few MS64s no FB. Now that Ive got a solid pic of the reverse, could we revist FULL or Not? Thanks again!

looking for the fat lower portion of the 4 doubled to the left and the remnants of the 1 at the top and lower parts of the outside of the 2 in the date.

I just don't see it. might be something on bottom of 2 on left side but can't confirm. and your center bands are NOT split. otherwise nice mint state coin.

I am not seeing from these pictures. Maybe you have a slight Die Deterioration around that area causing it to look like some doubling is going on.

I am not seeing the 42/1...sorry. I still hope I am wrong. There are a few older topics on the 42/1 D. maybe a quick review of those and a comparison to the photos would help since you have the coin in hand.

Nice merc! Though unfortunately, I don't think it's the 42/41 at all.. But in hand I suppose it could be.... though your photos are decent enough to see .... where I'm not seeing it at all. And likewise, unfortunately, I don't think its got even a chance at making FB... But still a nice merc!

Looks MS to me, can't tell FSB but it surely could be. I don't see why it's not an overdate. Sharper / better lit photographs would help.
Rest in Peace

I know at least one member here who can cherrypick the overdate from images like these 9 times out of ten, and I haven't seen him present the tenth yet.

I dont think it is the tenth either.

The coin is out of my hands. It is with a Member to submit. May go express, I dont know, I'm not the one paying for it. You all will be the first to know when I know, trust me. If it turns out that I wasnt right after all. I'm a big boy, Ill be here to tell you and own that too. Right now I'm saying die markers are diemarkers, are DIE MARKERS. I'm not the only one submitting coins on this run, and if multiple coins are going, whats 1 more? Along for that ride is a 1943 Washington quarter DDO. Its posted here as well, getting high marks, its also really nice. Thanks everyone again for comments, advise, and humble opinions. Ill bring more around that will be sure to have us all arguing.

We don't argue...we just have differences of opinions and healthy discussions (usually!).
