I've seen CoinWeek's 1942/1 video, and it looks like you have an overdate IMHO. I'd say MS-63

Quote: looking for the fat lower portion of the 4 doubled to the left and the remnants of the 1 at the top and lower parts of the outside of the 2 in the date. I just don't see it. might be something on bottom of 2 on left side but can't confirm. and your center bands are NOT split. otherwise nice mint state coin.

I am not seeing from these pictures. Maybe you have a slight Die Deterioration around that area causing it to look like some doubling is going on.

Nice merc! Though unfortunately, I don't think it's the 42/41 at all.. But in hand I suppose it could be.... though your photos are decent enough to see .... where I'm not seeing it at all. And likewise, unfortunately, I don't think its got even a chance at making FB... But still a nice merc!

Looks MS to me, can't tell FSB but it surely could be. I don't see why it's not an overdate. Sharper / better lit photographs would help.

Quote: I know at least one member here who can cherrypick the overdate from images like these 9 times out of ten, and I haven't seen him present the tenth yet. I dont think it is the tenth either. Macmercury,

The coin is out of my hands. It is with a Member to submit. May go express, I dont know, I'm not the one paying for it. You all will be the first to know when I know, trust me. If it turns out that I wasnt right after all. I'm a big boy, Ill be here to tell you and own that too. Right now I'm saying die markers are diemarkers, are DIE MARKERS. I'm not the only one submitting coins on this run, and if multiple coins are going, whats 1 more? Along for that ride is a 1943 Washington quarter DDO. Its posted here as well, getting high marks, its also really nice. Thanks everyone again for comments, advise, and humble opinions. Ill bring more around that will be sure to have us all arguing.

We don't argue...we just have differences of opinions and healthy discussions (usually!).
