The 1840 large cent is definitely fake. The 1895 looks fake as well

To my knowledge there are only proof coins that exist in the 1895 P Morgan, and only a couple dozen of them have found there way into circulation. The Morgan does not look proof, so it must be fake.

Slider23 makes a pertinent observation, but what I see right off is the parallel arrow feather on the reverse, which tags the Morgan as a fake, no doubt whatsoever.

Not my area of expertise, but if EFLargeCents thinks the cent is a fake, it probably is.

So I'm thinking "trick question" with both being phony.

The large letters on the Reverse of the Large Cent should have given it away, that year has small letters...Jeff

In 1840 the only possible head for all varieties was the petite head. The coin above has the 1843-1857 size head. That's just the quick way of diagnosing it from the image without having to go through die varieties.

Edit: Also the letters as kakaratt77 states above, in 1840 there was only the smaller ones.
