This is an older ANACS graded 1893-S Morgan silver dollar. Any and all opinion on this coin are welcome. It is graded fairly high and before I were to cut this out of the holder, wanted to make sure it was worth it. Thank you all in advance for any grading opinions on this coin. * * *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. *** Edited by rum_n_cola 06/10/2015 8:37 pm

Looks solid for EF-45. Would need a lot more luster to have a shot at an AU grade IMO. PCGS price difference between 45 and 50 grade is about $10,000 so I expect they won't just give an AU away!
Looks problem-free, a very desirable and valuable coin. Congratulations on owning such a beauty!

You have a WOW coin. The wear on the coin looks AU 50-53, but from photos there is no luster, so I would grade XF 45. I would not crack the coin out as there is too much risk, but I would send into PCGS on a crossover.

I have it as a really good XF45 which wouldn't shock me in an AU50 holder. Not 100% positive it would cross at 50, though.

I'm a little tougher on it. XF40 for me. It has just the amount of luster as to be commensurate with the grade, as well as wear. The grey color is very original. I like it :-)

xf40 for me wear wise, but I will say xf45 for the color.

Thank you all for your input. The coin is currently graded... drum roll please... AU55
I do agree that XF45 is where it should grade, and possibly XF40 per PCGS standards. I had a feeling this was graded a little high, though ANACS is sometimes hit or miss. I always try to the coin, not the holder. Still, this is an appealing coin. Again, thank you all for your input, appreciated as always!

PCGS would probably put it at 45, maybe 50 but that's a stretch. I would recommend, not cracking it out.

Keep it as it is....an au55 is amazing for the key to the series.....but I would grade probably xf45-au50'like the consensus on here

40 Looks a tad dull. But obviously is still a great coin.

TOUGH Morgan to grade!!
Slightly muted luster on the edges. A touch of honest wear on the OBV and REV.
....and a 93 S!
I am at AU50. XF45 all day.
How old of an ANACS holder is it in? May be better off to leave as is.
