Last week I picked up this album. It is close to being
complete, but many are in circulated grades.

I know I have a lot of extra BU Roosevelt dimes, so
I was thinking I might be able to upgrade it with
coins I already own.

Not that I need another project, but the price was right.
And I have been thinking of switching to albums with out
proofs.

How many others are doing, or have done, this album?

I knew it did not have a 1949 S.

So I picked one up yesterday. I hope to be switching out
some of these coins, when things slow down tonight.

That's a nice set to complete. It looks like you got a pretty good head start with just some easy dates to upgrade for the most part. Are the '82 and '83's uncirculated? They can be somewhat of a sticky point to obtain in MS condition. I still lack the '83s. I ended up buying the '82 so called mint set and it was way more than I wanted to spend for clad coins. Oh, and I'm doing the 8125 and lack a couple silver proofs and the '83s.

I've done the 8125. It was a fun set to put together. That 49S is sweet!

The 82 and 83's are not that great in this set. I try to keep a eye out
For those in BU ... For all the denominations.

I have a lot of rolls of silver a clad dime to look thru. I am sure I will
Have a lot of these I can upgrade.

I do have the 8125 also .... That was a fun set to do.

I hope I can get this as nice as my other set.
Rest in Peace

I see we have the same addiction, one set of a particular series is not enough. I just picked up another Dansco 7106 album that I have almost enough MS Wheaties left over from the first two sets to complete a third. The only one I didn't have for this #2 set was a '41-S, so I know I'll need that one. This is my second set https://goccf.com/t/178717&SearchTerms=dansco My #1 set is in my 8100 and I still lack several semi-keys and the keys.

I have a new 7125 album to replace my old Whitman folders. It's all circulated coins that I have found from pocket change beginning when I was a kid with a paper route back in the late 1960s. I have some holes in the 1990s and 2000s when I took a break from collecting, but I'm back at it again and finding coins to fill the remaining holes. I hope to complete the album by the end of the year. Glad to see others doing the Roosies too.

How much do you roughly pay per BU silver roosevelt? On ebay it seems they're 5 or so bucks. I'm thinking of starting to upgrade my set to higher quality

I bought a mostly complete set here on CCF for around melt value and finished it out in a 7125 a couple of years ago. Most of the silver is in circulated condition. Maybe a future upgrade project but on the back burner for now.

Hard to give a good answer to that question.

I would say the best way to get a BU set of Roosevelt silver
dimes, is to buy a completed set. Catching a dealer at the
right time, or at a good coin show. I think it would be
possible to get a complete silver BU set (1946 - 1964)
For low 100's, for sure less than $200.

Most good coin shops will have 90% silver buckets. Sometimes
BU coins can be found there.

Buying coins one at a time will be the most costly way to
put a set together, but good chance to have better quality
coins that way.

In my experience, buying the harder date Roosevelt dimes
can cost between $10.00 and $20.00. But most are common
and trade for much less.

Doing the 7125 is a lot easier than doing the 8125.
With the 8125, you have to get all the clad proofs.
But you also have to get the silver proofs from 1992 to
date can start to add a lot to the set price.

I was considering getting this album for my next round of folder to album upgrades. I have just about everything from 1965 onward and the silver ones don't seem expensive to get.

Nice folder, GR58! I'm sure you'll have ea good time (re)filling it.

At some point will you be attempting the 8125? Seems like you have enough proof sets to take a stab at it...

I did post above ... I have the. 8125 completed .. UNC/proof.

I do have a lot of silver proofs. This morning I was looking
for some rolls of clad UNC dime, I am sure I have some
from broken mint sets. I found more rolls of silver proof
dimes then UNC clad. .... But I am not done looking yet.

Very nice!

I have this album, but I added a blank page for proofs to make it a quasi-8025 album.
