So I inherited a coin collection and am sorting through it a little at a time. Most of it in cans, old english leather aftershave boxes, etc. I am following the advice of the inheritance post and trying to catalog everything. Where is a good place to get coin flips? Amazon, or some other bulk wholesaler on line? Are they one size fits all? Are some better than others? Thanks in advance! Cilantro

Hello! I get my coin flips at my local coin store and they cost me $0.03 each. I wouldn't pay more than $0.04 each. So do some research or visit your local coin store. Flips are not one size fits all (well technically a $1 flip will fit any smaller denomination but it will just be loose and look weird). I am assuming you have many different denominations and each flip is designed to fit the diameter of the coin you are putting inside. I use cent flips for dimes and cents and quarter flips for nickels and quarters so I don't have 4 types of flips instead I have 2 types. It is up to you what you want to buy. Good Luck!

Yup, one size fits all. Except for the BIG coins. I think you can get them from any place that sells them. Haha. ebay, Amazon, coin shops, online coin shops, etc. REMEMBER. ARCHIVAL QUALITY.

Welcome Cilantro!
Congrats on the inheritance.
Shipping around online helps with the flips and prices. Personally, I like going to my local coin shop. Pretty much they are all 2X2. Just make sure they are not PVC plastic which will corrode coins over the years (although I don't even know if they make these anymore in PVC).
You can get 2X2 cardboard holders that have a window in them custom fit for the size of the coin also. I personally like these b/c the coin cannot move around inside as easily. But if you would go this route, make sure to crimp the ends of the staples flat (or get a flat clinch stapler).

Hi, I am Kat, and I have a question for the pros. I was doing inventory for my fiancee and came across a 1943 Mercury dime, but there is something wrong with her face. There are gouges but they have worn down like the rest of her features. Is this an oopsie by the minting process? Someone please help. I need to know for insurance reasons.

Kat, I'd post that coin in a separate thread in the proper forum. It's not going to get much exposure here, at the bottom of a (relatively) old welcome post. EDIT:
