paid a pretty penny for it, lets see what you guys grade at and what I should of paid for it. I'm not really into buying high end coins but ive been VAM searching for Peace dollars for about a year and have never seen one like this ungraded. came from a seller who sells lots of antiques and is NOT a collector judging by the items hes selling. I assume he picked it up in an estate sale guessing from his other items for sale. now the gut wrenching part of waiting for responses.. side not, based on his pictures I can tell he has a very nice camera and lighting setup. its not some guy with a cellphone excellent pictures and a 14 day money back gtd.

I'll try and be conservative in my comments since I'm first in the pool. The coin looks extremely nice almost too nice. Looks well struck, but has a soft look I'm not sure what to make of. You inspired me to check out Peace vams for the first time, but you got me, I can't tell what it is. Will wait for others to chime in.

I'm no expert with the series, but hands down the nicest Peace dollar I have seen! A true gem! I'm interested in hearing what the experts have to say as well.

MS-68 all the way! However, it looks like it may have been cleaned, because of the lack of any toning whatsoever.

I thought the same thing about being cleaned, but without any lines would it still get flagged at NGC,PCGS? I will have the coin next week sometime and will post some pictures as soon as possible but I'm quite excited about this one myself. a full year of searching picture after picture, auction after auction and never seen one this nice raw. makes me nervous but that 14 day MBG puts a lot of that at ease. and this isn't a VAM, but at MS60 book value is $500, only 364k minted that year.

When I increase exposure slightly and sharpen the images the coin looks polished.
Very tough to grade based on these images.

I'm going to agree that it looks polished, or maybe even plated.

It looks fake to me, but I don't know.

Unfortunately there's probably a reason it's not holdered. I agree with unc details. I don't see any luster. But like you say, you'll know better in hand and there's a return policy.

Eh, the surfaces show it's most likely authentic.

WOW! Gorgeous coin if it is authentic. There is a ding in her neck and a couple of bag marks above the L on the obverse, which leads me to believe that this one is legit. Also seems too good to be true, so get it checked out. Rooting for you! Dave

Based on these pictures, my guess is that it was thumbed. I hope it looks better in hand when you receive it.

The surfaces are way too uniform .... believe it has been manipulated in some fashion.
Concur that it is certainly lacking in bag hits/marks - outstanding in that regard.
I'm going genuine, UNC-Details (cleaned/polished)

I have a bad feeling about this one. My gut feel is that it is a fake. All the details seem over done and the lettering and date are mushy.

It just somehow looks too good to be true.
