I wonder if he's an honest seller that just dosent have much refined coin knowledge judging by his 100% feedback and username

thats probably why the seller doesn't post the full picture of the slab the coin looks sad to.

With the exception of the dollar sign, which could have changed with time, the font looks pretty darn good to me. Some of the serifs are a tiny bit wider, but that could be a timing issue also.

Wow - good detective work edweather! This forum does a heck of a service to new collectors who would get taken otherwise.

Good catch ZXCCCXZ with the dark poor photos as it was hard to tell anything. ED, excellent work on finding the real coin at Heritage.

Great work, edweather! Very interesting to be able to compare the genuine coin/slab with the fake.
The font looks OK to me, but what is missing is the blue gradient background. As careful as the countefeiter tried to be, this is an obvious goof.

I wasn't able to see the auction so I can't tell what generation slab was being copied, but you have to remember the blue gradient label is only a few years old. Many of the fake slabs are of the slightly older type that doesn't have the gradient.

That's true, Conder101, but the genuine slab which contains the genuine coin has the gradient. Given that the counterfeit included a specific bar code and reference number, the counterfeiter was copying one very specific slab.
And he got it wrong.
