My favorite may be the 1996 smithsonian dollar. The 1994 Capitol dollar is another favorite and it's also one of my pocketpieces.

Quote: awesome GR58! dow do you store them? For years I was keeping them in a lighthouse coin case and trays. For now, to save space I keep them in a 2X2 box.

I am a Original Packaging guy. I don't buy the coin if the package is beat up.
But GR58, I like the way those coins look in the trays.
PS. You don't have to open a box of coins, slid off the sleeve, open a box, open a case, & dig a coin out of the case to see the other side. LUCKY!!!

I understand about having the OGP packaging. I keep all the original boxes. They are in a big storage bin.
That one 2x2 box has (I think) 90 coins in it. If I kept them in the boxes, they would take up a shelf, or two, in the safe. No room for that.

My favorites are the civil war and 95 Olympic baseball halves. They are two of the first ones my grandfather gave me as a kid. Love the look of them. After going through his collection of commemoratives spanning 30 years these are still my favorite. He was an original box with original papers kind of guy so it was tedious carefully opening and inspecting each one not knowing what I would find. Like Christmas in each box. If only I got to keep them all.

Yes. I work overnights and usually post while at work so it won't be until this weekend that I can get them up.

LOVE the storage option, GR58. It looks so cloak-and-dagger! My only concern is the portability combined with value density. Someone could easily make off with a fortune.
My collection is starting to outgrow my safe... I think I'll have to do what you're doing soon and ditch the OGP into a storage bin to free up valuable safe space.

One of my favorites is the star spangled banner commem (proof) dollar, as well as the buffalo & Smithsonian. Also for its uniqueness the Baseball HOF dollar as the first U.S. mint curved coin.

The 1996 Olympic UNC coins are some of my favorites. Doesn't hurt that they are the lowest mintage highest value coins. (four lowest mintage modern dollars) 1996 D Paralympics - mintage 14,497 1996 D High Jump - mintage 15,697 1996 D Tennis - Mintage 15,983 1996 D Rowing - Mintage 16,258

GR58 If I spend all my money on commemoratives I'm blaming you. I didn't realize how awesome they are until recently.
