Sadly I cannot make it to today's market due to I'm going away today, to Germany. I simply don't have enough time for now. Next week it is!
Have a safe trip. The market will be there when you get back.

The market sure was there, but perhaps a little bit less than I thought. Perhaps coin deliveries are on summer holidays

Today's batch was from a bit more neglected sellers.

1 Frank, Belgium 1996
20 Pence, UK 1982
50 Pesos, Chile 2006
100 Forint, Hungary 1997
20 Kroner, Norway 1995

50 Pul, Afghanistan (1330)
25 Pul, Afghanistan (1313)

15 kr worth. Once more the sun tried to fry everything in its path today so I didn't want to stay longer than necessary. Poor sellers having to be out all day is what I say.

Nice finds! I really like how "regal" the 5 Ore coins look.

The ongoing drought continues! Nothing new was seen today, so I had to dig through old trenches. Of course there's more to find the deeper you dig. It's a matter of persistance.

1 Krona, Sweden 1977 (lead fake)
100 Forint, Hungary 1998

20 Kr worth. The US cent commemorative is a first one for me. I find it strange to issue special commemoratives for such a low denomination but I understand it's because of Lincoln and his presence on the penny.

These are some massive coins aswell, so they do indeed seem grand. In addition, the reverse design of these have been fitted on manhole covers around Sweden, which can still be found today.

I wonder if the manhole is "coined" on the other side too. :)

I thought I'd be empty handed today as nothing new seemed to have popped up, but I was wrong!

My-Sunday-Market-Finds

Thai King Rama IX 50's anniversary of reign set (1996):
1, 5, 10, 25, 50 Satang, 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 Baht

25 Öre, Sweden 1977
20 Pence, UK 1982 (x2)

50 KR for the set, 4 for the rest. There's plenty to like about this set, particularily because the designs are all the same, but some of these coins can be found in circulation. The lowest denominations (1, 5 and 10 Satang) are not in circulation, nor is the 20 Baht coin. A fine set indeed!

I will be out of town for the next Sunday market, so you'll hear from me next time!

Indeed, very cool set.

I always liked that heptagonal 20 p coin, too (odd shape).

Sadly I have nothing new to show off today. I went but it was raining on and off, which scared away plenty of sellers. Bummer. Hopefully next week should be better.
