Aggravated-Robbery-Of-Coin-Shop-Owner-In-Kissimmee-FLNumismatic Crime Information Center - Gregg Pelnar (Coins and Collectibles) Kissimmee FL, was robbed in front of Twery's, Greenacres, FL on Saturday, August 22, 2015. He was on his way into the store with coins to sell when a black male suspect pulled up in a tan minivan, jumped out, knocked the victim to the ground ( causing injuries), and grabbed his briefcase. The suspect then jumped into his vehicle and sped out of the parking lot.

The following is a list of stolen cash/inventory:

Approximately $40,000 in cash
185 dwt 14K scrap gold
100oz of mixed foreign coins(mostly sterling)
1-1988 1/4 oz. proof AGE with box and papers
1-very choice roll of 1886 BU Dollars
4-BU rolls Franklin halves 54,60,61 and 63
Complete set of Canadian small cents in bookshelf album (all coins cleaned)
Complete set of Canadian nickels 1922-1967 bookshelf album
Complete set Canadian large cents 1858-1920 (58 is counterfeit)
Group of circulated Indian Head cents Buffalo nickels and
Liberty nickels

that's a big chunk of the hurt cake right there. some of the items seem fairly uncommon I hope tries to get rid of it all in one place and they catch the guy.

Not only do I hope they find the rotten thief and recover the victim's property, but I also hope the victim considers personal protection after this. A concealed carry permit is not expensive or hard to get for honest people.

That absolutely stinks.

It almost sounds like the thief expected the guy... or was really lucky with choosing his mark. Unless people frequently go in/out of that shop with briefcases full of cash, coins and PMs. Which is, I suppose possible being that (I assume) it's a coin shop. But THAT much? That seems like about $60k at a quick glance.

@Earle, I agree. If I were carrying around that much with me routinely, I'd get my concealed carry license.

And head on a swivel - always. With or without sidearm.
