The issue is not the high 9 or not (yes I gambling), the pictures are fuzzy, variety not mentioned, the anticipation is the fun part and cheap excitement.
The issue is using stock photo's, not mentioning it, sending different coins than the one's pictured. I have zero issue the coin not being what I was hoping it would be, I do have an issue with receiving a different coins than were shown in the picture, but same date. Second issue is seller not seeing an issue with not mentioning of using stock photo's when selling circulated coins as an auction. I like gambling, but playing a rigged game is not fun and I believe seller feedback is important and this is the kind of information buyers should know.
I hope this does not turn into a lynch mob, never my intention (link was requested by two members who I respect on this forum and provide good advice), I guess the lesson is careful what you wish for, (link is now deleted).
Had the buyer acknowledged that using stock photo's and/or not mentioning it was an oversight/mistake, no issue and I would not have even started the thread.
Starting to regret even posting this thread...

What kind of feedback you leave is of your own discretion and by making it a poll question you got what you asked for..IMO That said I agree with the principal, as you made that clear. Time to move on

You definitely should not regret posting this thread......examples such as this can serve as a great learning experience for others, and perhaps future buyers or future sellers as well. While you say your issue is not whether or not the 1929 is high or not, but it's with the use of stock photos.... My only comment would be, think of yourself as a seller ( I'm not one either.....just putting myself in their shoes, as the saying goes) but for one cent small lots of low grade circulated coin, fillers per say sold to folks who aren't particular on good quality or grade, are simply collecting one for each year - how much time and effort would you reasonably put forth into your listing given one worn circulated penny is pretty much exactly like another? It's not a bad thing that sellers are on ebay for those types of folks, at a very low cost to accumulate a collection. People also buy rolls and larger lots virtually sight unseen - taking the gamble. But a purchase of a few old cents at a price less than a Starbucks coffee, I think is an example of one gets what they pay for.

This is suppose to be a friendly forum. purelywasted can ask or poll whatever he would like to provided it doesn't break the forum rules. Lets not try to read between the lines as it makes some look stupid at the end of the day. What sickens me is the way people hide behind the computer and take jabs at purely wasted and ebay sellers. For the ones taking jabs..."Though art Holy"

One last point - in my opinion, buyers should be aware that the track record and quality of ebay comments they leave for sellers may someday bite them *** Edited by Staff | The bad word filter is in place for a reason. Bypassing the filter and making the intended word obvious anyway is completely unacceptable. ***For example I expect sellers might be reluctant to drop a price if they perceive a buyer to cause unnecessary conflict. And today's ebay buyers also often become tomorrows sellers......I value my buyer rating for that reason, if eventually I use ebay to sell my duplicates I'd want buyers to not view me as a seller who's only looking out for myself. "Don't sweat the small stuff!" is how I view buying on ebay. Edit to Add: it is my understanding that ebay's policy prevents coins being listed with the disclaimer of "stock photos".

I would just like to say that if a listing indicates you can buy a quantity (as in more than one is available) it is probably reasonable to assume you will not receive exactly the item(s) pictured.

I only read the first page of comments but I can't believe anyone would stand up for this seller/clown. He pulls the bait and switch and then wants to send you more cheap crap so you don't alert other buyers in order that he can continue to dupe people. Negative feedback, return the items, get a full refund, and report him. "Oh, it's only $5, I can't be bothered to tell you what you're really buying". What a load of crap.

'Bait and switch' may be a bit of an exaggeration... The way ebay's current feedback system is set up is that a negative HAMMERS a seller... The idea of some members of the forum that a negative for (in the grand scheme of things) quite minor transgressions waters down what I think the intent of a negative feedback should be for.
