Possible bid.

Pretty rough, but I have it around G6 (Details, scratches obv). Obverse is much darker than the reverse. Unusual. Overdate clearly visible.

FMV on a G4 is $210, seller wants $179. I am thinking that's too much by about $79. Thoughts? Or am I being unreasonable to make such an offer?

Like you say, it's a details coin. Your offer is reasonable.

LOL.

Best offer was (very swiftly) declined (I offered a rather generous $100.)

On to the next one!

The problem with Classic Head Large Cents is finding them original. The 1811/0 is one of the tougher ones and problem free are even harder.
This one is close to problem free but not.
Surfaces are a little questionable and like you mentioned..the scratch.
$120 would have been my highest offer.
I suspect he would have killed that as well.
$130-140 is my guess as to what he has in it for that BIN.

Seller relisted it. I don't think he will get any hits at 179. I felt my offer of 100 was more than generous.

Other fish in the sea, indeed...
