I bought the 1804 Half Cent in my 7070 in a similar auction - dark coin but seemed to have some details hiding under that bad picture.

Thinking you made a nice buy here. The pinch and zoom on the iPad sure is nice for pictures.

I played with the listing at home and lightened it up just to see the details.Looks to me like a shot at VF.

I really don't think it's a VF. VG-8. Possibly stretch it to a 10.

make sure you post pics when it gets there! BTW, is it my eyes or does it look like the top part of the rim on the obv is scraped?

I did something similar to see what the coin looks like. Here's my shot at brightening up the obv and rev...

It's starting to look like F12 to F15 and therefore a good pick-up.
