I presume this isn't a real 1893 s, but I would appreciate if you could tell me what to look for in future. Thanks

Not sure, but I don't like it, especially raw. The inside ovals in the 8 and 9 look funny to me. The genuine ones have pointy vertical ends on the ovals, and these are rounded. The mint mark looks funky too. I don't know enough about these to roll the dice on a raw one.

The S looks wrong....I have seen real 1893S in person the mint mark is totally different. Probably a real 1893 but an added or altered mintmark

I have my doubts as well. Mintmark and date look off. You have to ask yourself.. Why isn't it certified?

IMHO , this Morgan is screaming FAKE. I'm not a Morgan expert but come on; the stars On obverse are wrong, and it really looks like a cast product.

I am in the cast camp as Dave 700 noted. The wear an the coin is not the same on both sides and looks manufactured as the obverse looks like a F 15 and the reverse looks VF 35 or 40.

Someone is going to be real disappointed or more likely they don't have a clue and never will.

How is someone going to believe they can buy a coins worth $5200 in VG condition can be bought for 86 pounds? Unless it was bought at a boot, sale but not at an auction live or online. There are no big secrets in the world of coins. Many, many people know the true value of coins for sale including the seller. Who would sell a 1893S for 86 pounds who even had a remote idea of its value? Just the fact it sold for such a prices is screaming "Fake".
