When I first glanced at your post, I was expecting it to be all hyped up, like this local Craigslist ad: http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/c...7913544.htmlCollector grade... huh. As for the Morgan, at least they were being honest- maybe a bit too honest.

It's cull bin fare but for being such a desirable variety. For fans of well circulated Morgans, this is actually a great find, especially if it ends up going at a bargain price.
They're actually being a bit hard on it (reverse psychology?), at least it doesn't seem to have been messed with. I'd rather have this specimen than an XF that's been polished, or one that's been holed, had initials carved into it, et cetera.

I'd prefer one that's been counterstamped.

Its really not "that" awful...as Vermontensium noted the O/S is abundantly clear & last night when I posted was still only @ $3.00. What really got me was the title. Definite attention grabber. Quote: (reverse psychology?) I think so. I almost bid just for giggles.

Thinking he still gets $25-30 for this as its a popular VAM and someone starting out will appreciate the obvious mintmark. If the owner cherrypicked this out of a scrap silver purchase, nice little profit. If it wasn't for the reverse markings, I might jump in for the conversation piece. This coin has stories to tell!

I'd say it'll go for $50 +/-

Lost Dutchman is a good dealer, very trustworthy. It is still identifiable as a VAM 4 due to no die gouges in the hair curl, and a non-broken S. Cool coin. It is on my watch list.

I bet it will actually sell for more than it would have with a generic snoozer of a listing, or worse, one of those RARE KEY DATE UNC MS PL BU GEM +++++++++++++ titles with the ink-covered 2x2's.
I almost bid on it before I realized I'd then have 4 1882-O's which seemed a bit excessive.
