Just got back from my brother's funeral. He went downhill a month ago in the final throws of MS. I flew to Atlanta last Sunday to spend the day with him. We watched football together, and I flew back to NY Sunday night. He died Monday morning at the age of 57. Really glad I spent his last day with him. Went back down for the funeral on Friday. It's been a heck of a last month, but I'm glad he's at peace. Just starting to get my sea legs again back here at home in Northern NY.

You NEVER get back to normal when there is a death in the family.

I had an older brother who died in a road smash nearly 30 years ago. I still acutely grieve his loss.

My father who was perfectly healthy at the time, died 10 months later; he died from cancer. My mother always said the cancer was induced by grief.

edweather: It is very easy for me to empathize with you.
