I just got this in the mail today

a little over 1,000 Lincoln Cent all RPM's from the 1940's - 1950's.

I thought it was a steal at $60 for 1,000 coins all RPM's on ebay (6 cents each).

I wonder how long this will take to look at, sort, figure out rpm # and label the ones that aren't to ugly.

I would do a quick sweep of what I could and pull all Red o r AU coins out immediately then sort them by date and start marking them off then I would sort the rest by date and go through those second startingwith the oldest first.

Good points tweak800, congrats on your 1,000 post also I am to go with that advice pulling the nice ones away from anything first is great tip, sorting by date first into rolls is a good start for tomorrow.

Congrats on the score. I was watching that one on ebay but was not where I could bid when it was ending. You got me this time. Can't wait to see what you find!

I once made a coin sorter. I used a 1 X 6 board with holes drilled half way through it and put short 3/4" diameter Copper pipes in the holes. That let me sort the cents by date and drop them in order in the pipes. The pipes were removable which made it easy to get the coins out. It works better than an egg carton but takes some time to make. It's built to last so it can be used for years.

I would take my time and enjoy the hunt. I would first sort by date and MM,then bring up CC's site and start to match markers. You may want to get a folder and put them in there so you could have a set of all RPM's
