If your asking for value, just by looking at reverse it's an average circ. phily mint. 35% silver. not much over melt. unless it turns out to be a 1943-P over 2 mint error. then it would have some value.

Maybe it's his/her first. I was pretty excited when I found my first War Nickel! Many, many moons ago.

Just a first find is all. I've been getting rolls from the bank and sifting through them, re rolling and taking them back for more. It's worn but it's a War Nickel! Yay!

I just had a feeling it was a first! Now, go out and find me a 1944-S in brilliant uncirculated condition and I'll be finished with my set. Actually, I want to buy it at my LCS and if he has one in the condition I like, I'll get that done this weekend.

Quote: Today's haul is 23 silver nickels out of 24.00 in nickel rolls. Anytime I find ONE silver coin it makes for feelings of the stereotypical "kid on Christmas morning." But 23 in 12 rolls Even in the 70s when going through at least this many nickels a week, I don't remember ever finding more than a maybe a couple silvers at a time - maybe up to 5 on rare occasions. It looks like maybe you stumbled onto someone who emptied out that old can of coins from grandma's closet.
