Why do you care? I've sold many coins and could care less who has them now or what they do with them.

I really don't think this is anything to worry about. Most likely, this is the coin the OP sold, and it may have changed hands a couple more times, but the listing seems legitimate to me. Unless the OP can provide pictures proving that the photos used are his and/or someone else currently possesses the coin, I think we're dealing with an honest seller here.

When.selling a coin like this, or any valuable item, an honest seller would not jack you around about a low camera or some crap. This smells of a con

I've been watching this thread since it originated. I'm apparently with most of the crowd when I ask: How is this coin "yours" since you've sold it? I understand the buyer (possibly) re-using the pictures you used to now sell the coin. I don't see that as a crime, certainly not justifying your angst about the sale.

If he/she chooses to not admit the current sale, it's his/her choice since the coin is now theirs.

If it's a scam involving someone else, you've notified the current owner and it's now his/her concern.

(Maybe I just don't understand what you're concerned with...)

This coin was sold by this same seller. Coin is fake.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1798-Draped...221915752534

Same transfer dies that struck that coin, struck this one that I posted not too long ago. Also fake. Both slabs are real.

EFLargeCents, Yes, so just to confirm, on the one you just posted, the slab is real but coin is fake, so ICG got fooled on that one just like NGC on your other link, right? Assuming not a seller's fault once it's in a righteous slab. I know one thing, I'm going to have to confirm everything, including variety, before I buy any nice coin ever again.

Also the ebay seller of OPs coin posted 6 additional photos upon my request, I don't blame him for now saying his camera level is low. There are plenty of good photos to evaluate the coin.

Yes Bobby, look at the Y in Liberty on the obverse. That is all you need. A Y like that was NEVER used by the mint for these. A real Y will have a much shorter stem, almost V like.

For example:

http://coins.ha.com/itm/large-cents...ption-071515

Also note the odd circle thing on the bust of both examples, compared to a real one.

Yes Ed, both are real slabs.

The ICG number matches the coin. I agree with edweather.

Also, look at the large hit on Liberty's right breast. It is present on both counterfeits.

I guess the above thing might be the "odd circle thing on the bust" that EFLargeCents alluded to?
Rest in Peace

Yes typecoin, the odd circle thing is the hit I was referring too.

Also, back to the OP's coin briefly. Doesn't anyone think the letters in the motto are a bit odd? Compare to this one sold from heritage:

http://coins.ha.com/itm/patterns/18.../1151-5368.s

It almost looks like the coin in the ebay auction, the R in TRUST almost touches the base of the ribbon, but in the Heritage coin, it isn't even close to the edge of the ribbon. There are only 10 of these, so there really isn't any die variation. ?
