Either way it's a damaged coin with no added premium. The thing of it is that PMD might present as an error or variety coin especially on worn coinage. A member posted a silver Rossevelt the other day thinking PMD. Found out later it was an RPM variety worth a little extra. So spy your coins well! Report this Post to the Staff

Rackster Pillar of the Community United States 4809 Posts	Posted 04/08/2015 11:19 pm 4/8/15 results 2000 nickels searched 30s - 1 (1939) 40s - 13 (42S, 43S, 48D hole fillers) 50s - 20 (1951 least common) 60s - 3 (pair of 68s, D and S) 70s - 2000s (2 2009, 1 2009D) Foreign - 23 (18 Canadian, 2 Bermudan, 1 Singaporean, 1 Belgian (1951), 1 Taiwanese or Chinese) Error/Variety - 6 coins for closer study, but one DDR I think I was very pleased to pluck a couple S mint War Nickels which were side-by-side in a roll. I also found a 1937 Buffalo nickel in nice shape as well. For more modern era (post 1959) nickels I found a nice pair of 1968s in AU condition the merited setting aside. Overall, a nice mix of new, old and foreign coinage. Funny of late how many Canadian nickels I've been finding. I really need to get a folder to put some of these specimens into it.
