$40 in nickels yesterday produced a 1914-S Buffalo in G-4 and a 44-P War Nickel.
Very nice, especially that Buffalo!

carloscoria, when you say you skunked, do you mean you got no silver or buffalo/v nickels? Because based on what I've seen, practically everyone gets a few pre-1960 nickels in each box, so that must be someone's dump if you really got nothing.

I'm going through a horrible box right now. The only thing to note is a 2000 canadian and a 1982 pence. Plus a handful of pre-1960 common date nickels. I haven seen a War Nickel for months. They have been drying up her since Christmas.

I think I had a decent box today. I have only went through a few though so not sure what is considered "good."

30 - 59 or earlier (best being a 55-P or 48-S)
1- 1944-P
1 - 2009-D
25 - 1983
16 - 1982's
4 - Canadas (1979,1981,1993,1994 )
1 - 1999 Republic of Somalia
1 - 2003 Commonwealth of Bahamas

55-P has a low mintage and I know the 2009 is fairly uncommon in circulation. I've been setting the 82's and 83's aside too because they go for a premium on ebay (not sure why).

Nice Jon. I'm up to 12 V nickels over the years, but only 2 in the past year or so. They are a hard find!

Last box I searched, zero silver. 5 cents in change at Steak N Shake, 1 43P! Great luck!
