Carloscoria,

You got two 1938S's in one box. That is mind boggling. I think we have only found three of those in total since we started collecting.

2015 is the year of the 1938S.

It was the second form last nickel I needed (besides the 1950D) and I found mine January 1, 2015. I have since found 6 total this year.

Hopefully 2016 will be the year of the 1950D as I need 5 more to fill the holes in my sub tier albums.

Rackster, in this deal I also picked up 200 Buffalo nickels and 50 IHC.

Total cost was $100 for the 2 sets of '38-'61 nickels completed, 200 buffalos, 50 IHC. I think I did great. That includes shipping too. Only 1 IHC filled a hole.

I now have 22/65 Buffalo nickels for a total cost of $4.06. Progress! Slow and steady! :) Having a blast. I love nickels.

I'm pretty new to searching through rolls of nickels. Today's box was a bit lucky for me:

1925 buffalo, 1945P, 2009D, 2x1939 and 14 other 1940-1959.

I'm looking forward to searching through more boxes.

Nice Duncan. I have to admit I have been searching mainly nickels all year. Trying to find the elusive 1939D. I wouldn't mind the year of the 1950D either but finding the last nickel will be a treat.

Rackster, that would be nice to finish the set off!

I plan to get 2 boxes of nickels when I'm home for thanksgiving break. Looking forward to it.

Picked up 5 rolls at my CU today. Got some nice dates. 39, 40, 41, 46, 47, 49 and 50. I set the 39 and 50 aside until the end. No luck. Both Phillies. Rats!

Doesn't even cost a nickel. Because the nickle is not spent.

I say it does cost a nickel, since you cannot keep and spend the coin at the same time. When you keep it, your spendable funds decrease by 5 cents.
