I should have some nickels coming today or tomorrow, depending on if my mom is willing to drive me to the bank. I'm hoping for some War Nickels, and maybe a buff or two. |

I'm on my second box ever (the first of two I got today), Loomis rolls, and I'm about two thirds of the way through roll 12. This roll alone has already coughed up a 1949-D and my first dateless Buff!

Is it possible for a coin to have MD on both sides? I got a 2011-D that appears to have just that.

Yes. For some reason, the modern Jeffersons tend to have more extreme examples of MD. It might me because of differences in the coining process.

I don't usually bother looking closely at the newer ones, but that one stood out, especially on the 0 in the date. I looked over it, and the MD is fairly severe on both sides. In other news, I decided to switch from pre-68 to pre-60 as I was getting huge numbers of '60s dates. Someone is going to find 3 solid rolls of early '60s Jeffs at some point.  I'm going to see if I can pull a date off that Buff with some vinegar at some point. It's not a 1913 T1 and it doesn't have the 1920-type hair ribbon, so that leaves a lot of possibilities. No MM either. I'm not really sure if I can get a date, though- the legends 'Liberty' and 'Five Cents' are completely obliterated. |

Okay, so these are the boxes that don't have the little holes on one side, so I could only look at one end of each roll at the beginning. I just picked up a roll, flipped it around, and this guy was staring back at me.   He's a P mint. It's too bad for the fresh roller damage, but that's my second buff this box, as of roll 31! |

15 1/2 rolls left, and the best finds so far are not the buffalos. 1st, a 1948-D with no trace of wear, almost no contact marks, an RMP (RPM-002) and beautiful evenly distributed light orangish-pink toning. The only problem is a tiny graze in the toning smack dab in the middle of the reverse. 2nd, a blast white 1946-S, similar condition. Both of them are strong strikes, with nearly full steps. EDIT: By the way, the 46-S was an ender (it looked like some coins from the 90's at first glance), so it has just the slightest bit of roller damage on the obverse.  Edited by Numisma
