I just searched through a good box the last couple of nights. It yielded 35 pre-1960 nickels, including a buffalo (dateless) and 5 wartime silvers 42-P, (2)43-P, 45-P, & 45-D. Three of the five War Nickels were found together in a single roll. I also found (3) 39's. I usually find only 1 or 2 1930's Jeffersons in a given box.

Nice score there coin sleuth. I picked up 10 rolls at lunch and quickly tore through them. I had a very badly beaten up 1943-P War Nickel and 7 pre-1960. Nothing else special. I'm still waiting for my first V-nickel...

Found 2 39's last night in little over half a box and breathlessly flipped them over looking for a MM. Nadda. Have been finding a lot of 41's lately for some reason...

You'll find a V nickel sooner or later Gothic Florin, they tend to show up every 24,000 nickels or so.

Great going, Ratman! I only need a 50d to complete set #2. I refuse to give in and buy one, though! Been taking a week's break from nickels; might pick up a couple boxes tomorrow or Thursday. Gotta get back on track!

Well I started building that first set in 1972 (I was 10). It was alot easier back then to find the key dates, but the 1950d was hoarded since 1950, and I was impatient and bought it sometime in the late 70's.
