The Goal: 25,000 Rolls Of Nickels (All Searchers Welcome!)

I picked up a few roll on the way home last night. Best I got was a 1942. It's not great, but it still the oldest coin I have pulled from a roll to date.

I went through $200 of nickels last week. Here's what I found:

11 foreign coins, including from canada, bermuda, switzerland and argentina

5 - 1939-p, 1 AU '38-d
11 - '40-p, 1 '40-d
15 - '41-p, 1 each of '41 d & s
2 - '42-p, 1 '43-p
14 - '46-p, 1 '46-d
5 - '47-p, 1 - '47-d
7 - '48-p, 1 '48-d
1 '51-d and '54-s, both XF
1 '60-p an 2 '60-d, all AU/BU
16 '68-70-S coins

There were a bunch more circulated coins in the 50's but I didn't pull them. I did however, have a great tiem. A bit disappointed on only 1 War Nickel but the '38-d kinda made up for it.

Got a customer wrapped roll with 5 buffaloes with dates and one dateless and 14 other pre-1960's. Yep,you read it right ONE ROLL! None in great condition but about $10 worth of nickels from one roll. Other than that, it has been pretty slim pickins!

GREAT single roll! Did you go back to that bank to see if they had any more rolls? I would have cleaned them out!

Here are some more updates. Still working on unpacking most of my office after moving, but it's real easy to go to the bank(s) when I need a break to grab a couple of boxes!

Great thing about this update: it only took until the first week of 2010, but FINALLY got my first 2009! Plus, most ever warnickels of a single date found in one update.

wow lot of silver in those first two boxes

can someone explain a bit about the henning counterfeits and how to spot them?

Just found a 1943 S War Nickel ! ......

This was from bank rolls....about $40.00 worth.....still going through them.

I also got my first "Brinks box" of nickels.....usually mine aren't from Brinks ! (went around town this morning trying to score some Cents, Nickels, and/or halves......)
