Thanks Gothic Florin and CND. I guess I have a better location for Nickels. I will continue at a slower pace till the end of this year just to see if I can finish a second set. XoG: You are ahead of me on Franklin half set. I still have 3 coins left (53,55,56). I have completed JFK sets twice without proofs; Working on a Dansco album 8166 now, need a few modern silver proofs. I have found all the early silver proofs and all clad proofs (79/81 type I and II). I have found 4 1970d's. I also found all the clad Ike dollars minus 73 for my IKE set including a 72-type 2. . Not very interested in Sac and President dollars. Happy searching! Ratman, that's very high ratio of War Nickels! Congrats!

Bring on the dancing fruit! Working my way through a pretty good box little by little the last couple of evenings. Last night I came across a 1939-S, in XF-45, might even make AU-50. The downside preventing those grades is that there is a pretty large gouge across Monticello on the rear , it looks very similar to the lamination errors seen on the War Nickels, but I expect it is post mint damage. Has anyone seen lamination issues on a 39? Anyway with the find of the 39-S, I'm down to 4 to go: 44D, 50, 50D, and 55. That's marking off two this week!

I purchased 30 rolls yesterday on the way home from a sick half day at work. well, no wartimers but I did find some goods. The rolls were 18 customer wrapped, 12 string, with the customer stuff turning out the goods the best (only 3 pre-60's in all the string rolls) 15 pre-60's (3 s mints now in my book) 6 canadians 1 bahamas 5 cents and...my first proof, a 77-s nothing rare but still a gem to see amongst the regular stuff.

DylansDad, Nice find on that 39S. Still looking for mine to complete my 2nd set. (pretty sure I only need 4 for my 3rd set 38D,38S,39S,50D). I don't think lamination is exclusive to War Nickels. Why don't you post a pic of the reverse?

I'll see what I can do...mainly I don't post pics because I suck at taking them. Maybe I'll try scanning it, although you'll have to put up with the really poor color then.

that's what I do...use the scanner. I really don't have a camera to do the job.

yinzi50: It's amazing you're finding so many proofs roll searching. What kind of condition are they in? I can't imagine how many rolls you had to search to get almost all the Kennedy proofs.

For Jeff's I'm still missing 38s, 38d, 39d, 43d, 44d, 50d, and 09d.
One of these days I gotta buy 10 boxes and just go at it for the whole day. I'm sure at least one or two of these dates will pop up when I do.

I did a few more rolls with the kids tonight. Still no War Nickels or anything, but I did get a 1940S and fill a few holes in the 8113.
