Quote: In fact today we came across TWO MORE buffalos in a $50 hunt - a 25 P and a dateless slickster that we will vinegar treat shortly. Quote:Found a 1945-P War Nickel last night, which is an album filler, plus a 2009-D nickel today, and a Bermuda coin for my daughter. Excellent!

Nice finds. You do want to check your 1939 P nickels for the DDR on the words MONTICELLO and FIVE CENTS. Even in circulated condition it fetches around $100 to $150.

Thanks for the reminder . I'll check for the DDR before I put it away in my nickel tube tray.

Found a 1944-S War Nickel today, plus another 2009-D yesterday. Thought the box would stay hot, but the next 5 rolls yielded nothing but a 1986 Canadian. 'Tis the ups and downs of CRH. Cheers!

Thanks, all! I found a 2004-S Peace Medal proof in the same box today. So far, this box has yielded a 2009, War Nickel, and a proof. The only thing missing is a Buffalo nickel (or a V nickel). I have 10 rolls left, so hopefully I'll find a Buffalo tomorrow, but the chances are probably slim. I'll share a picture when I finish the box. Cheers!

OK, final tally for the box is 1 War Nickel, 1 proof nickel, and 2 2009 nickels. The last 10 rolls yielded another 2009-D; unfortunately, no Buffalo nickels. Still a pretty solid box with 27 pre-1960 finds (including the War Nickel), aside from the aforementioned ones. Cheers!

Nice finds, everyone. My recent nickel searching has been productive. My last MWR box was great, 1944-P, 1945-P wars plus 1935 and 1936 buffalos. The 1936 and 1945-P were in the same roll, and actually right beside each other. I also found a 1938 Canadian in a CWR. But the box I'm working on now has been slow.

Nice finds, and that 1938 Canadian nickel is really nice as well. Only the second year of the beaver design.
