That's pretty darn close to a full strike Buffalo .
too bad that rusty color on obverse. If there is a way to get rid of that stain you would have one heck of a coin. Only 1 cent over face,

I was truly surprised to see nobody bidding on this one. I'm open to suggestion on the staining on the obverse.

Looks like its cleaned, maybe thats why? Not seeing any luster, so... Anyways, not a bad deal although the shipping was a bit pricy @ $2.25

Not sure what the red is, but try soaking it in Acetone and see if it comes off

So you actually got it for $2.31. In that case, I'd say you overpaid a bit.

I never consider shipping as part of the price. It would cost me more to drive to the coin shop.

Nice coin.

Even with the corrosion / discoloration I would be proud to put that in my album. I am a sucker for reject and "real" coins and not safe queens.

So if a seller charged $10 shipping instead of $2.25, you wouldn't consider that as part of the price either?

To me, of course it's part of the price, you'd be $2.31 richer if you didn't buy it!

Regardless, I like the rustic look of the coin.

Although I'd also recommend that any cost associated with a purchase, including postage, be considered, I know it's more fun on very inexpensive coins to forget that cost.

As has been suggested, you might try acetone to remove the 'rust' on the obverse, but from my own experience I've had little luck getting that color off of nickel.

Spending money on gas or shipping, no difference. Do you tally your gas used and add it to your coin shop purchase ? Yeah I didn't think so.

Ten dollar shipping ? Now you're just being silly lol.

If the seller just tossed the coin into a regular envelope with a 49 cent stamp, I'd ask why he charged $2.25 for shipping. But that's just me.

srs77, that logic really only holds if you just buy one coin. If you go on and buy maybe 3-4 coins, and they each charge a few bucks in shipping, then you are now paying more in shipping than you would to go to a coin store most likely.

To answer the above question, no that's not what he did. It came priority with tracking. In a bubble mailer well wrapped. This particular seller did a phenomenal job on the packaging of the coin.

I wondered if he'd even honor the selling price of six cents. But, to his credit he did.

To the individual who said I paid more than six cents, well you're correct but that would be true of any coin I purchase whether from ebay or a coin show or my local dealer. There are costs associated with every purchase.

If you read my original post I stated a six cent auction win. Not delivered price. I actually gave this seller a 5 star rating on shipping costs because of how he decided to send it. I mail loads of coins out and his cost was right in line for what he did to get the package to me. Nothing but kudos to him.

Now, to those who's opinion is that I spent too much for it, that's why I asked the question so I have no issues with your opinions, it's what I asked for and I truly appreciate your thoughts.

My photos didn't do the coin justice. There is loads of luster on this coin, particular on the reverse but even on the obverse as well. This isn't a high dollar coin, but rather I thought just a bargain at six cents for a coin not in my collection.

thanks to all for your thoughts and opinions, it's why I am on this site everyday!
