Please give me a grade on this coin up for auction and let me know if you think the toning is AT or original.

Indian Gold Eagle,

How are you picking up the cleaned surface?

I am by no means an expert on toning, but it appears that the tone lines on the obverse don't mend together. When they stop suddenly and restart suddenly that is a tell tale sign of it being artificial. Hopefully someone can correct me if I am wrong, again, I don't deal much with toning.

A bright unnatural surface due to a chemical cleaning, then an artificial tone applied is my guess.
Rest in Peace

If it looks too good to be true, it probably is.

Looked at his sold listings, lots of AT or questionable. But every single description is that he just purchased the item from a large estate collection ... garbage.

Definitely an AT Coin, looks AU to me from the reverse. The colors don't follow the visual spectrum order (always a key to telling AT) Most likely a chemical of some sort with some heat applied.

Fairly good example ..... Nice little split in the tail but worn or weak strike head and the front is ok but not overly impressed with either ....

AU53 maybe but the color has been tampered with, avoid as who knows what it will age into over next few years, could turn into a dark mess, avoid!
