I just picked up a copy of a dealer price list for the year 1939. looking through the prices it is almost comical. For example 1896 $1 fine $2.50 new $3.50 1896 $2 fine $4.00 new $6.00 1896 $5 fine $8.00 new $12.00 1899 $5 fine $7.50 new $10.00 If time travel was only possible

Reminds me though of a quote during the Great Depression:
During the depression you could by a bowl of soup and a slice of bread for a dime...but who the heck had a dime?

If you go back in time just remember that you will have to play fair, which is to say you can't use your 2016 money; will have to EARN corresponding rate for 1939.

I remember some show or movie about time travel and the person had a suitcase full of coins and paper from each decade so they would have the correct money for each trip back.

I don't have the figure in front of me but $12 back in 1939 would be a decent amount of money still
