I was just looking through my albums and noticed that I had a couple proofs in the early 60's dime holes. (1962 and 1964) Then checked my 2X2 boxes and saw I have proof Roosevelt dimes from 1954 through 1964. Also, I do have both the Dansco 7125 Roosevelt business strike. And the 8125 Roosevelt dimes Including proof only issues. My question is. Would you take out all the Philadelphia mint business strike coins from 1954 through 1964, and replace them with proof dimes? I am thinking of doing this with the 8125 album, not the 7125. And I am curious what others have done, or would do. 7125 album page one 8125 album page one 2X2 box

It looks so good the way it is, I think I would be reluctant to change that. But I don't use albums much. I prefer to make my own pages in 3 ring notebooks -- so maybe my opinion isn't much help.

Yes! An album full of proofs would be pretty sweet.

I do not have any proofs before 1968, other than the 1964 proof Kennedy half dollar (which has specific hole in the 8166 Dansco). That being said, I think it would be a cool idea to use early proofs in the Philadelphia holes of an 8xxx Dansco. If you have the means, I say go for it.

I bought a blank dime page for my Dansco album, that is where I am putting all of my pre 1965 proof dimes. I also have a habit of acquiring random coins that don't fit into the preprinted Dansco holes, I will eventually fill most of the rest of this page with random dimes that happen to catch my eye.

It is not a big deal ... but something I am thinking about.
When they just sit it a 2X2 box I don't really look at them or admire they very often.

Preserving the integrity of the coins in my collections wasn't the only reason I abandoned the "Dansco" albums in favour of archival quality 2x2 albums and pages. With these type of albums there is absolutely NO restrictions as to what coin you can add to a collection, The only restrictions are your imagination For any given year you can add all the mint marks, all the strike types (Ms, PR SP), as many varieties and errors you can find and with some I even add the different shades of toning. Like I said the only limitations are your imagination with these types of albums. With the Dansco and other TYPE albums you are restricted to what someone else has decided what you collect in a particular series. I much prefer a "Free Hand" approach to my collecting , After all it is MY collection and I will add whatever I deem appropriate to it and refuse to be dictated to by an album publisher. Try this out on just one set and you will discover the freedom and creativity to create your OWN set that I have enjoyed since I decided to do this

I would keep your beautiful album intact just the way it is and get a blank dime page for the proofs and add it. to your beauties!

That capital coin holder looks like something I might like. Not sure why I didn't check that out before.
Thanks for posting that idea
