Hi everyone, I found this 1996 d double strike error coin and was wondering if this is a real error or a post mint damage coin? If real how much would something like this be worth? Nonetheless this is a real awesome looking coins.

Looks nice. And if real I would guess it would bring a very good premium. I'm almost certian its real. I'm sure others will weigh in soon.

Looks to be a Cross-strike. Lets see what the veterans have to say. If so confirmed , nice find!

Sweet coin! :D I believe it to be a genuine double strike. Funny enough I was just thinking about double strikes earlier today, and here you find one. How long have you been roll hunting for?

I have been coin roll hunting for about 2 years but never found a genuine error coin before. All the past error finds were PMD. This find might be my first rare one.

It's cooler than you know. What you've got is a normal first strike and a weak second strike. Minimum die clearance must have increased after the first strike for some reason.

I've seen several similar in-collar double strikes, but such errors remain quite rare.

Wow. I bet it's worth a "pretty penny" lol. If you want to sell contact Heritage Auctions. Email them pics and they'll be calling you before you can even get up from your computer most likely

That is a really cool double strike, just enough rotation and pressure.
