it's incredibly worn already, my plans for it is it'll be a pocket piece because I have compulsive behaviours, that and I'm going through a very depressing part of my life, so I need to touch something all the time, I'm going to continue to wear the legend, motto, and portrait on both sides. and I may update this post every couple weeks on what the Ike looks like, it will be a fun adventure.

And for another treat, once I get it worn down to pretty much nothing I'm going to have it graded, whats a good grading company to go through?

It will be interesting to watch your progress.

I have seen some pocket pieces get to the slick
grade ... but they were carried for decades.

I carried an ASE for a year and it barely looks worn.

Just a question, but does it look like it was naturally worn? or is it artificially worn to this point?

What do you plan to wear it with? I'm not sure your fingers will wear it down too much maybe just tone it much. Keep some change with it at all times so it can rub in your pockets. I would be totally over that Ike. Never seen one that worn just in the wild. Always keep a few presidents to keep my eagle company with.

I'm assuming it's clad cause of the mint mark but wasn't sure if you wore it off. I totally understand needing something to fiddle with I use my eagle when I'm anxious. Usually keep it in my hand public speaking to keep calm haha.

Yeah it's just a clad 1972 no mint mark (I can't tell what type it is) And I figure it'll take me years to wear it even smoother then what it is now, but that's why I'm asking if it's artificially worn or naturally worn, because I never knew ikes to be circulated that much. (maybe in casinos at the time)

I could see it being a slot machine coin from the rims but I never handled one in person.

*update 2/10/2016 one week after posting*
Obverse

1. L & I in liberty is becoming weaker and softer.
2. Y in liberty is starting to feather (blend with the rest of the coin)
3. "in god we trust" is fading even more
4. the "1" in 1972 is starting to feather
5. worn more of his ear lobe away
Note the cracks that you see on "in god we trust" is a fiber

Going-To-Wear-An-Ike-Down-To-Nothing-In-Years-Time.

Reverse
1. worn the moon on the left side of the field to where it blends entirely with the coin.
2.the feathers on the wings on both sides are wearing away. (most noticeable on the eagles RIGHT wing)
3. one of the craters is almost gone.
4. the eagles mouth is almost completely gone.
5. the "O" in One dollar is starting to feather
6. the branch that the eagle has is starting to blend together on the right side
7. The tail feathers are starting to blend together.

My 72 Ike is just a little more worn then yours. I'm wondering how long it would take to wear them down to like 02.

I kinda like the looks of it when it's worn like yours.
