I've never seen a lot quite like this before. It contains 408 proof coins. I paid 2x face value, plus $6.80 shipping. It appears at least half of the coins in the lot have MAJOR problems, and obviously none of them will be perfect, but as of right now I have very few proof coins in any of my albums. It's just never been a priority of mine, so I only have what I've pulled from circulation. I figured this would be a quick, cheap way to fill in those holes in my albums. Whatever looks too awful to even use a filler coin can just be spent at face value and I didn't lose much. I'm kind of excited to sift through this when it arrives.

That looks like some serious fun. Even if you only get 20-30 keepers I think you did great. Wish I could help you sort those, just for the pure joy of it.
Rest in Peace

2X face? Sure, why not keep what you need, and sell the rest.

Looks like fun, that probably makes it worth it on its own. Let us know if anything unexpected shows up in the search.

I'm excited, if for no reason other than the "fun" factor. A bunch of these coins seem to have been painted (and not even nice paint jobs). I'm going to soak them in acetone for a few days. If that doesn't work, I'll try xylene. If that doesn't work, I'll spend them instead of using them as album fillers.
Rest in Peace

Sorry but internal alarm clock just sounded. The only thing worse than a problem bu coin is a problem proof coin.
I just can't see the logic . there are many nice coins I can buy with $100+ .Why in holy HECK would I buy someone's bag marked proof lot. No one knows how long those coins were rattling around in that bag, A Week ,A Month ,A Year ?
No offense ; I'm just venting MHO...

The cost was actually $56.97, including s/h. The other $50.07 is not a cost to me, since the coins are worth face value. I have very few proof coins in my albums and I don't plan on spending the money it would take to fill in hundreds of proof holes anytime soon. So my thinking is that if I can fill in even 30 proof holes from this set, it was well worth it. Since the proof holes are empty right now, I don't mind filling them in with impaired proofs. I'm not going to stick a bright green JFK half into a hole just to fill it, but I don't mind using a scratched or oddly-toned proof coin.

I would do it myself if you could take away the dollars and halves and maybe quarters and do it double face. Though I'm not sure some would sell the smaller renovations like that haha. 20 cents for a proof dime I needed or 10 or 2 cents would be amazing. Would need a much better bag to get up to the same $1 amount though.

I hope you can find what you need in there. Like NSS-52 said, all those delicate proofs rattling around inside a bag like that troubles me! Chances are they are there for a reason, likely all culls.
