LCS - Pickup vs ResultsI had an interesting idea to show you my purchases from today and then the post the results in one thread or link to the other coins if they anything super. I just got home. I got a uncirculated full set of War Nickel in capital holder with original box golden toned coins. $75 I seen one coin in it the reverse looked extremely thick if nothing still awesome set and the holder alone costs 30% of that. Hopes: get one rpm, DDO, DDR out of it and replace varieties Results: 1944-P WDDR-001 "Best Of" Nickel Doubled Die VarietiesA full roll uncirculated 1945-D in tight wrapped Automatic wrapper I peel open end coin looked toned. the guy that sold this to the store does not do or known varieties. Hopes: 2-3 varieties in uncirculated condition 1944-s Washington quarter I didnt have loupe but IGWT looked doubled Hopes: DDO if not upgrade for my dansco Result:Cherypickers FS 1944S-101CONECA DDO-001 8 rolls Lincoln Cent bank rolls from a business Hopes: None 3 Basement slabs 1943-d, 1944-D and 1945-D just cause they are over graded coins does mean they don't have varieties inside. Hopes: Low group was low priced one appeared to ave something going on 1943-P 2x2 silver nickel Hopes: looks to be slight woodie maybe DDO coin has odd look Results: 1943-P WDDO-008 & 1943-P 5c WDDR-007 Edited by OcalaFlorida 02/19/2016 10:20 pm

Very nice finds Ocala. Good luck searching for nuggets in them. I am a sucker for the Capital Plastics holders, particularly the unusual ones. Great War Nickel one you have there.

the 1944-P Nickel in capital Holder is super dooper strong spread a 1944-P WDDR-001 under 10x loupe ... wow one of my missing ones for my collection. I just got to figure out how to photograph it. Super Happy to cross any "Best Of" Nickel Doubled Die Varieties" off my list ok one 1944-P to swap out. I never seen a 1944-P DDR-001 so I am super stoked I will post pictures of all nickels if any others all at once. Off to check the others woo hoo http://www2.briansvarietycoins.com/...ngs/view/368

Tommyjet LCS stands for Local Coin Shop a term I picked up from this forum..
I like to got there and buy/cherry pick some stuff, he mostly sells silver/gold coins so nickel, cents etc I can find so gems...the 8 rolls of pennies I got from a store connected to gas station on the way there needed morning coffee instead of singles which they ran out of I said I would take penny rolls instead they apologized I said its ok no really I collect these things they laughed. I gave them $40 in singles I had for two 20 too.

First run around capital holder looks like only the 1944-P no complaints there... I will check it again later just in case. On to the basement slabbers..the sgs 1943-D does looks like a a uncirculated 1943-D WDDO-001 but it is not a ms70 no surprise there the 1944-D is a dual variety woo hoo dont you just love basement slabs... 1944-D 5c WDDR-001 & 1944-D 5c WDDO-002. but it is not a ms70 ntill not surprised 1945-D is a DDR I can't match it up under usn scope will photos later All basement slabs look ok I will update pictures still looking through these...

The die wear sure is hiding what was going on when the die was fresh. That is why I check for die state before buying a doubled die. Later die states could be reduced as much as 50% of value for them. While earlier die states add (+) to the value of a doubled die. Mid range about full value. So when searching for a coin to purchase, keep this in mind. Grading companies don't recognize that, just avid collectors look for this on coins they purchase to re-sell another time.
