Interesting note!

Estimates state that the first shipments of 1928E $5s was in September 1946. Julian and Snyder were in office from July 1946 to May 1949, so it's probable that the last shipments of 1928E $5s were sometime late in 1949.

Love the red seals! That's a nice one. I was lucky enough to get one in circulation but that was probably 10 or 15 years ago.

Beautiful Note, I just picked up my first red seal $5 dollar note at a coin show a few weeks ago. I love they way they look. I'm always on the lookout for more.

The $5 Red Seals are an unusual series in that there are no really scarce non-star notes throughout the entire run 1928-1963, even in high grade. This makes them very affordable and collectible in TPG Unc. holders, and I really believe they're a good issue to put away today.

Thanks for the idea Coinfrog. Still looking for my first graded and this sounds like a good option.
