Someone on this forum was all excited about getting regular $2 bills at face. Does your bank have them for face value? Or Susan B. Anthony dollar coins?

My local banks all offer $2 dollar bills and SBA at face value, when they have em. In my experience they only keep these currency's that they receive in business transactions. They will however order these coins if asked.

My current bank used to be able to order them, but now can only give out what customers bring in. They have a good supply of dollar coins at all times, which usually includes a few SBA dollars. $2 are hit and miss.

My previous bank used to keep the vault very well stocked with everything except half dollars, which could be ordered easily.

The trick with SBA dollars is that no machine can tell them apart from the SBA and Prez $, so you always get a mixed grab bag when they show up from the Fed.

Chase orders me boxes of halves every week but they would not order a box dollar coins for me

When I need a box of dollar coins to pay off my credit card bill the BMO branch I get me weekly boxes of halves from orders them for me. I have been in the same branch and seen a guy on more than one occasion picking up a box of dollar coins. Turns out he has a vending business. I have also been in the branch when someone was getting a strap of $2 bills that they ordered.

Otherwise when I stop in dump banks or banks that I don;t have an account with to check the teller trays if I ask for halves or dollar coins they will ask me if I want $2 bills as well if they have them.

I have been picking up so many loose dollar coins over the last 3 months from teller trays that I haven't had a need to spend my extra halves.

My bank generally doesn't have them on hand but occasionally get them through transactions... I always ask if they have any "funny money" (that's what they call it) and buy it if they have it... Somebody else in town buys them too so I have to be quicker on the draw sometimes...

My bank has lots of them .... When I dump them there

I had been feeling bad, dumping Ike's, Sac's, two's and
even 4 and 8 note sheets sometimes. But they tell me
they have customers that want all they get in.

Give me an example of when you would deposit/cash-in sheets? (Seriously - I'm not being a smart-alek here)

My bank is pretty good about getting pretty much whatever I want as long as I don't abuse the privilege. I make things easy for them by not going overboard and they in turn make life jingly for me .

If there is a way to get sheets of notes outside of going to the BEP and paying a premium, please let me know.

Old story of mine but I'll post it again here. My entire town is saturated with $2 bills. Not uncommon anymore to see them in daily cash transitions and at every bank in town. Why is that? Well I live in a relatively small city (35k people) with a strip club in it that brings in bricks of $2 bills to tip the dancers with. 3 years since that club opened up its no big surprise to get $2 bills around here anymore.

my bank said they could order me some 2$'s but have to order a 1000 of them so that's $2000

and the unwritten rule is don't bring them back here

Both the $2 bills and any kind of dollar coin (even Ikes on occasion) only needs a request at the time I ask. I can also order the dollar boxes, but I've found nothing in the last three that was worth my time, so I've discontinued looking at them.

$2 bills I keep mostly for reuse. It's rare to see a $2 from the bank worth keeping.

I am going to my bank tomorrow to get $2 notes and bank-wrapped dollar coins rolls. They will probably be a mixture of Pre$, SAC$, and SBA$.
