Upstate New York man gets 20 years in connection with comic book collector's death, burglary

Quote:
SPRINGFIELD - A Rochester, New York, woman was sentenced to 20 years in prison for her role in a deadly home invasion that took the life of a 78-year-old comic book collector.
Arlene Combs, 31, was convicted of racketeering in connection with a home invasion at Homer Marciniak's address in Medina, New York in 2010. She was one in a network of "boosters, shoplifters and burglars" headed up by Rico Vendetti, according to a criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Springfield.

Interesting article that sheds a bit of light on the functioning of criminal enterprises that prey on collectors and how they utilize other businesses to fence their ill gotten gains. Horrific crime, I hope that these 8 criminals involved in this racket are sentenced to the maximum sentence permissible under the law.

Let's just take a year off the existing justice system. You get convicted of a felony, you get shot. Cry me a river.
Rest in Peace

Why are there no pics of these criminals in the news stories? Is the press trying to protect the guilty? Here's a more detailed account, yet also lacking pics, of the crime:

Medical experts concluded that the blow Griffin struck, as well as the emotional trauma caused by the burglary, directly contributed to Marciniak's cardiac arrest and resulting death.

A sudden jolt would be true justice instead of wasting years of tax dollars pampering the perps. A man dead, a family grieving forever, and all over comic books/coins for drug money...sick.

you don't have to sentence to death, the penalty should be amputating the right hand. I am sure they will think real hard about trying to steal a second time.

True, but they don't need to.
